Artist Statement Meri-Kaarina Rahkomaa
Taide on kuulunut elämääni tavalla tai toisella aina. Sarjalliset työt kiinnostavat minua. Eri tekniikoilla samasta aihepiiristä toteutetut työt ja työt joissa tekniikka pysyy samana, mutta teosten sisältö elää pienin vivahtein. Kokeilen teoksissani, kuinka pitkälle voi yksinkertaistaa, että tulen vielä ymmärretyksi ja maalaus olisi silti mielenkiintoinen.
Art has always been part of my life in one way or another. Serial art interest me .
Paintings made on the same subject with different techniques and paintings which the
technique remains the same, but the content of the art lives on with little nuance.
I will try in my paintings how much can be simplified and my art would still be understood and would be interesting.
